It's called the "House Rabbit" because it lives in our
house as part of our family. Of all the pets I've had,
my rabbit was the easiest to housebreak ... within a week. Rabbits are loving, so very sociable, and quick to learn. They play with toys, and you can even train them to walk on a leash, and will come to you when called by name. And they're never too old to learn. I always brought my rabbit to school to roam free in the classroom, and my second graders loved him. My heart breaks every time I see a rabbit kept in an outside cage. If you already have a rabbit, or are thinking about buying one, please keep this in mind...especially if you plan to keep yours in a cage...rabbits have been known to die from boredom. And they are such loving pets!!!
My personal feelings....if it was born free, leave it free!! I have tried not to include sites whose main purpose is to sell wild animals ... especially primates and large cats. I have tried to list sites that will help with the care for those owning exotics, shelters for those who have tired of their upkeep, and information for those who are considering the purchase of one. No offense meant.
